Privacy Policy

wetipp is a free-play football prediction game played between friends. This policy explains what we collect when you use the wetipp app and this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what the game needs to work, nothing is sold, and no money is ever involved in the game.

What we collect

  • Account. Your email address, used to sign you in. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifier and email your provider shares. Sign-in codes sent by email are rate-limited per email address and per device to protect your account.
  • Profile. The display name and profile picture you choose. Both are required and are shown to the Members of your Groups — your Profile is never derived from your email address. Pictures you upload are stored in our object storage; a picture you never submit is deleted automatically after a day.
  • Game data. Your Groups, Memberships, Predictions, points, and Standings. Predictions become visible to other Members of a Closed Group only after a Fixture Locks; in an Open Group other players see aggregates rather than your individual Prediction before then.
  • Notifications. If you enable them, a device push token so we can tell you about kickoffs, results, and Group activity.
  • Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, request metadata) kept briefly for security and abuse prevention, including sign-in throttling.

What we don't do

  • No selling or renting of personal data to anyone.
  • No advertising profiles.
  • No money in the game: no stakes, entry fees, pots, or payouts — so no payment or banking details are collected for gameplay.

Where your data lives

wetipp runs on Cloudflare's platform: game data is stored in Cloudflare databases and profile pictures in Cloudflare R2 object storage. Match schedules, results, and club artwork come from API-Football; our servers fetch that data — the app never sends your information to API-Football. Settled Seasons may be moved to archive storage; your points and Honours remain part of your Groups' history.

How long we keep it

Your account and game data are kept while your account exists. A Group's Honours — the record of past Season Winners — persists with the Group. Delete your account and we remove your Profile and personal data; entries that other players' history depends on (such as settled Standings) are anonymised rather than rewritten.

Your choices

  • Edit your display name and picture at any time in the app.
  • Leave a Group at any time; Admins may also remove Members.
  • Turn notifications off in the app or in your device settings.
  • Ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account, at the address below.

Children

wetipp is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
